HOW MUCH IS A TRANSCRIPTIONIST PAID?
In May 2021 the average rate per minute of recording was 0.97p/minute, the highest rate was 3.38p/minute and the lowest was 0.55p/minute . Our contractors are good at what they do. They are experienced and the rate we offer reflects this. Our rates are based on the length of the recording. The more difficult a recording (e.g. groups, time codes etc. (see our order form for more about what constitutes difficult and higher rates)) the more a typist is offered to complete a project. Although our rates are based on the length and difficulty of a recording, when converted, our typists earn well above the average hourly rate for transcriptionists working in the United Kingdom. We are not here to underpay people or take advantage. This is not what Divas is about.
