Management, board members and other stakeholders are susceptible to ignoring or not paying attention to best practices in industrial practice. Sometimes, this is due ignorance, but often it’s because the final result is what counts.
OSHA-10
Obtaining a safety certificate is a great way to improve your resume and gain experience about your field. It can help you get the job you want and grow within your current business. It will provide you with tools to design a comprehensive safety program for your workplace. These courses are designed for both professionals with experience and those who are new to the field.

Students who pass the course receive the US Department of Labor OSHA 10-hour certificate, which is valid for the rest of their lives.
While this certification can assist you in finding work, it will not guarantee employment. It is important to note that every job and workplace will have its own distinct training requirements. There are numerous online ads which claim to offer job opportunities following completion of an OSHA 10 course. These advertisements aren’t usually legitimate.
To obtain a safety certification you must take a quiz and complete a series courses. You must also achieve at least 80percent. Some courses are online, while some require you to attend an in-person class. Once you’ve completed the course, submit your results and your instructor will give you an OSHA-10 completion certificate. This certificate can be used when applying for a new job or renewing your current position. It can also give you a competitive edge over other applicants with similar qualifications and experience.

Many employers require OSHA Outreach training, even though it is mandatory for some workers. Local laws, policies of employers, and worker’s comp requirements determine the specific safety training required for various types of employees. It is important to remember that OSHA Outreach Training does not substitute the safety certifications required by state and federal agencies. This includes the CPR and First Aid certifications that are required to complete certain tasks. ISO 45001
Everyday, workers across the world are killed or injured as a result of workplace accidents. Despite the fact that the majority of these accidents can be avoided, many employers aren’t putting a priority on the safety and health of their employees. Implementing an OH&S Management System is therefore crucial. The newest ISO 45001 standard is a ideal framework to establish these systems.
The ISO 45001 standard uses the same high-level structure that is used in other management systems standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, making it easier to implement and integrate. It also takes into consideration that OH&S requirements differ from industry to. For instance, construction workers have different OH&S requirements than those in pharmaceuticals. The standard is flexible, allowing companies to develop a plan that meets their requirements.
Although certification isn’t required but it is a great way to demonstrate your company’s commitment to worker safety and security. It can also enhance your company’s image and reputation as a responsible business. Additionally, it can help you save money by reducing the risk of injuries and lowering the cost of insurance.
There are seven clauses in the standard, however the most important ones are the Clauses 1 to 3. They require you to determine your OH&S requirements and then create an OH&S policy. You should also consider the risks your business is exposed to and take steps to minimize the risks. You should also ensure that your employees are provided with the right training and equipment to avoid accidents. You should also inform your employees and others the importance of safety and health at work. This can be done by meetings, presentations, and newsletters.

Pearson VUE test centres are located across the United States. The ARTBA Transportation Development Foundation engaged an internationally-recognized consulting firm specializing in helping industries and government agencies develop effective, fair, valid, reliable and legally defensible assessment and evaluation services to work with industry safety leaders on this program.
SCTPP is a safety program created by senior executives from industry and safety advocates through the ARTBA Foundation. Its aim is to reduce, and ideally eliminate, the nearly 50k worker fatalities and injuries that occur every year on and around U.S. infrastructure construction projects. It was designed for construction supervisors, workers and foremen, as well as planners, designers and operators of equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and owners.
The SCTPP exam is a 2.5 hour long test that includes 120 multiple-choice questions on the assessment, creation and implementation of pro-project safety plans in identifying and reducing risk, managing project site personnel, developing an incident investigation plan, writing an accident or incident report, and conducting training sessions for field staff. SCTPP certification is valid for a period of three years. Recertification requires documentation, ongoing education in the area and the retesting.
To be eligible for the SCTPP applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in construction management or engineering and two years of experience* working on transportation construction sites. This experience can be acquired through working as an operator, worker, supervisor, or foreperson. It is also possible to gain this experience through internships.
